Script at SKE that I did notes on for the team, which is now coming out of development.
At the film production company, Sidney Kimmel Entertainment…
I was tasked with helping the company sort out and critique potential scripts for development. Because SKE was inundated with scripts on a daily basis, the executive development team did not have time to go through all of them, and we were the first layer of filtering for the development team.
The intern team each received 3 scripts a week to do coverage on. After reading a script, we wrote a report, which included a logline, synopsis, and critical comment section for the script, where we recommended the script or told the creative executives to pass.
I was able to create coverage for pieces that went into development, while gaining relationships with the creative executive team, and learning what made a movie successful or not.
My first week at Late Night!
In the fast paced world of late night television…
Everything has to run like a perfect machine. At Late Night, the intern team was tasked with helping on every aspect of the show, and especially with production, to keep the show moving and in perfect order.
As a General Production intern, I helped run and hand out tickets for Seth’s monologue rehearsal, helped the stage manager and production team during the live show, and helped with data input and assisted the post production team during the live show.
While in New York, I was able to learn how a different city’s culture informed the way problems were solved and how work was done. The high speed world of Late Night taught me how to think on my feet, problem solve, and work under pressure every day. I was able to assist the costuming department for both Late Night and SNL, as well as connect with team members from Late Night.
